Could some one on ancestry.ca please see if they could find a Zotique
Chandonnet for me. It is believed by a second cousin of mine that he was
some where in Lotbiniere. She is in Colorado. This is her great grandfather.
Thanks in advance,
Michelle

Michelle, I had a look, but could not find him at all. A fair number of
Chandonnet's, but none with the first name of Zotique anywhere in
Canada. Any alternate spellings come to mind? His age at the time? There
were people with similar surnames in Lotbiniere at the time, Chandonnois
seeming the most similar, but no Zotique's among them.

Hi Larry, My cousin thinks he was born abt 1840. I was afraid that he would
be under a different spelling, or perhaps a dit name. She says, he was a
steamship captain on the St. Laurent Seaway as she has a picture of him
captaining a steamship.. I asked her if there was a name on the steamship as
that may help in our search. She has yet to get back to me. Of course we
have nothing to prove that he was a captain except for a picture. I did
google him for quite sometime and I kept getting a Zotique Beaudet born to a
Eleonore Chandonnet and Pierre Beaudet. Zotique Beaudet had a child named
Henri. And one of Zotique Chandonnet's children was a Henri. Coincidence?
Most likely.. I'll keep digging. Thanks for your help.

By the looks of this marriage date I am thinking he wasn't alive during the
1851 census.. or maybe just born. I have been to automated genealogy and
haven't found anything. I did however find a Sephora (Cephora) Chandonnet on
Heritage Quest, 1920 Lowell, Middlesex, MA. She was Zotique's wife.
They both have such a unique names. I also found a Zotique Chandome 23 yrs
old. in Farmington, Polk County Wisconsin in the 1870 census.. It's a far
way from where his wife was found in 1920..But, it's possible. I don't
