I have recently complied the following pedigree on this family, copied below
with sources noted.

Any comments or additions would be appreciated.

Also, can anyone provide any information on any connecton between this
family and the Haringtons of Farleton, Aldingham and Exton.

Sir JOHN de HARRINGTON, Kt., of Deeping Gate, in the Parish of Maxey &
Grendon Co. Northants. & Little Panton, Co. Lincoln., M 1st Maud, sister &
heiress of Philip de Paunton, of Little Panton, Co. Lincoln & Glaston,
Rutland & d. of Sir Philip de Paunton, Kt., of Little Panton & Glaston. M
2nd Margery. He received the reversion of the Manor of Glaston, Rutland
from Sir Philip de Paunton, 1298. He was recorded as holding the Manor of
Grendon, Co. Northants., 1313. Died 1326. He had issue by his 1st wife:

3.Oliver, of Glaston, Rutland., He was recorded as "aged 24" at his
father's death, 1326.


4.Thomas, of Glaston, Rutland., M -- . Died before 1344. He had
issue:


1a.John, of Glaston, Rutland., M Margery. His severe financial
difficulties, exacerbated by costly litigation arising from the claims to
Glaston made by his more prominent kinsman, Sir John de Harrington, led him
to sell a life interest in the Manor of Glaston to William Wade, M.P., of
Stockerston & his wife Margaret, & to promise to Sir Roland Daneys, M.P.,
the reversion. He had issue:

Leic., M before 1381 Agnes. M.P. for Rutland, April 1384. Knighted before
April 1386. J.P. for Co. Leic., 15 July 1389 to 1399. Sheriff of Co. Warw.
& Co. Leic., 7 Nov. 1390 to 21 Oct. 1391. M.P. for Co. Leic., 1393 & 1394.
Died before 23 Aug. 1399. He had issue:

RICHARD de HARRINGTON, of Deeping Gate, in the Parish of Maxey &
Grendon Co. Northants. & Little Panton, Co. Lincoln., M -- . He was
recorded as holding ¼ of the vill of Whissendine, 1316. At his death he was
recorded as being seised of "a little manor in Grendon held of John de
Hastings by service of 6d yearly" & of "Moorhall Manor [in the Parish of
Whissendine, Rutland], which he held by the rent of £4 payable at
Fotheringay Castle". Died 1324/5, v.p. He had issue:

Sir JOHN de HARRINGTON, Kt., of Deeping Gate, in the Parish of Maxey &
Grendon Co. Northants. & Little Panton, Co. Lincoln., Born c. 1306/7. He
was recorded as "aged 18" at his father's death, 1324/5. He proved his
claim to view of frankpledge in the Manor of Grendon by descent from Baldwin
de Panton, 1329. M 1st Elizabeth. M 2nd Isabel. Died 1376. I.P.M. (Co.
Linc., Rutland, Co. Notts. & Co. Northants) - which he was recorded as being
seised of "the Manor of Paunton by Grantham, with the advowson of the
church, a watermill, 5 carucates of land, 8a meadow, 50a wood in a park &
15s.7d rent of assise of free tenants, all held by knight's service" & the
"Manor of Grendon, held of the Earl of Pembroke as of his manor of Zerdele
Hastyngs, in socage by service of 6d yearly". He had issue by his 1st wife:

Parish of Maxey & Grendon Co. Northants. & Panton, Co. Lincoln. She was
described as "Isabel wife of Hugh Fairfax, aged 23 years and more, his
daughter" & was recorded as daughter & heir with her sisters Amy and Alice
of her father at his I.P.M., 10 Feb. 1378. She had issue: (See FAIRFAX)
