Does anyone have any info. or proof of the following lineage?
That Robert Bowman b. 1600-10 (Scotland ?) d. 2/17/1671 Henrico
Co.,Va. was a son of Robert Bone b. 1561 Scotland d. 1609 Scotland &
that he was a son of James Bone b. 1536 & d. 1609 Scotland married ca.
1560 to ?, & that he was a son of Robert Bone b. ca. 1509 & d. 1573
Scotland & that this lineage goes back several generations to Richard
de Bohun/Le Bon b. 1297 & wife Anne Brewer or Margaret de Bohun.
Where might I find this lineage on line?
Thank you

I know of no source that tells us *anything* about Robert Bowman
before he suddenly appears in Virginia. It's likely he is the same
one of that name who came to Virginia in 1670.

See here for a useful writeup of what sources we have (and what we
don't):

Sounds like another charlatan-fraud pedigree.

I think it *very unlikely* that the name 'Bowman' can be a corruption or
slight variant of 'Bone'. On the false onomastics alone, this looks
like an invented lineage of wishful thinking--connecting a person with a
common occupational name ('Bowman') with a superficially sound-alike
aristocratic name ('Bohun').

I remember now: this (or a similar line from which it was derived) was
addressed here back in 1997:

50ced04dd51df08/d386aa8ce83839d0?lnk=st&q=#d386aa8ce83839d0

The source of that one, at least, was a book by Robert G. Bone, _History
of the Bone family of America_ (Normal, Illinois, 1972).
