Joan, Wife of William de Stourton

Can anyone help me sort out the ancestry of Joan, wife of William de
Stourton (living 1343)? Reference The Complete Peerage, Vol. XII/1, p.
300.

Several on- line sites show her as a de Vernon of Hornington, Wilts.,
daughter of Richard de Vernon.

1. Is this correct?

2. If so, which Richard de Vernon? There seem to be multiple, roughly
contemporary, Richards.

3. What is known of his ancestry?

Thanks for your help.

There doesn't seem to be a Hornington in Wiltshire. For what it is worth,
Burke's Peerage (1970) says it was Joan, daughter of Sir Richard de Vernon,
Lord of Horningsham, Wiltshire. Perhaps the Wiltshire V.C.H. can throw
light on this?

Best wishes,
