I have some old photos I would like to a family web site. I don't know how
to do that and would appreciate some advice.
Thank you.

Some of the higher resolution digittal
cameras can also be used to copy old photos.
The scanner will create a digital image of the photo on the PC and it
can then be resized, brightened, darkened, sharpened, etc, to get the
clearest image.
To put the pictures on a web page, you need one of three things:
1. a friend who knows how
2. a genealogy program that can process pictures and create web pages
(sample page created with the Deluxe version of Legacy:
http://www.wizardanswers.com/personal/rainespix.html )
3. knowledge of web design and appropriate software
There are some sites that provide hold-your-hand instruction in
creating a web page and adding pictures to them. (Sorry, I don't have
a reference at hand.)
Some family sites may provide step-by-step instruction on uploading
pictures.

Re: Picture help Needed
My opinion is to use a picture site like "flickr.com" or
webshots or other site for sharing pictures. It is very
easy to upload, usually just follow the instructions. The
best thing is that it is free!
If you decide to make a website you can link to those
pictures in your flickr or webshots albums. If you don't
then you will have to have some software for uploading
pictures to your website. Maybe free maybe not.
take care

I nearly lost them but they turned up in an email cache on an old computer
so I put them on Flickr as a back up
the originals were given to her sister by my granny and survive in
Australia with a second cousin
