Help for uncle in Pennsylvania

Legg inn av news.methosystem.com » 28 sep 2007 16:58:33

Hi,
i'm searching for my uncle and cousins emigrated to USA (PA) in 1910.
I found **** Frati, his doughter and his wife in ancestry.com web site
but I cannot find him in 1920 and 1930 census...
Why? I cannot undertstand, i'm sure my uncle died in USA!
I also found his military record about second mondial war.
How can i find him, his place where he lived and his descendants?
Thanks to all in advance!
Bye

Sergio

PS: Sorry for bad english!

Sergio...what city and county in Pennsylvania did you find your uncle?
What names did the census for 1910 show?

Hi Bob,
I find my uncle in Ellis Island records, not in census. His name is Dino
and the immigration record show Charleroi, Washington (?), Pennsylvania.
Also the military record show Charleroi...

I'm sending you an obituary for Dino Frati from 1961. It lists his family's
names. I haven't been able to find them in the 1920 and 1930 census yet but
I'll keep looking for more info.

There is a listing in the Social Security Death index for a Dino Frati
dying in Pennsylvania in Sept 1963.

From looking at that obituary I found, I think that's his son.

Sergio, the surname is actually quite an uncommon one. There are a
number of living Fratis in Pennsylvania. If I were you, I'd start
calling them, or write some letters.

I see listings for a D. Frati in Dingman's Ferry and an Emil D. Frati
in Scranton. You have nothing to lose.

I've found relatives by getting letters printed in local newspapers
(in a small town in Scotland, and in London, Ontario). I've also
gotten out of the blue calls from people looking from relatives (a guy
from Australia called us once). On the latter one, we weren't related
but we were able to put him in contact with the "right" set of
relatives in our city.
