Line 49- what is first name? Last name is Simon and that is correct,
as is the rest of the family.

I'm trying to make it out. Ancestry indexes it as Romola but I don't
believe that is correct as I can find him on no other census.

Any help greatly appreciated

There is a "Solomon" Simon with wife Emma in the 1910 census here:

http://content.ancestry.com/Browse/view ... &rc=&zp=75

could this be the same person?

Looks like a SCAM - all I got was the Ancestry website which is one of
the reasons I do not subcribe!
Are you leading people astray?

Calm down. It's a link to the census page in question on Ancestry. If you
don't subscribe to Ancestry, it will take you to an error page instead,
which probably offers the chance for you to subscribe. It's implied that
folks who don't subscribe to Ancestry are invited to move on to the next
post.

I see many SKSs gave guesses. I do not have access to Ancestry. Do you know
the series (year), roll, and page? Maybe I / other could see what Heritagequest
transcribed it as.

Okay -- got my glasses fixed! In the 1880 census, I find what MAY be Mr.
Simon's family living in Nebraska (where the children of Mr. Simon and wife,
Emma, were born).

Here he is indexed as Rowvalan. You can see the census here:

Should have said he is living with his parents in the 1880 census. The 1900
census shows he and Emma were married 18 years at the time of the census.
So they were married about 1882.

I searched HQ under Tenn, Dickson, and born in PA and found the following:

1900 > TENNESSEE > DICKSON > 5-DIST Series: T623 Roll: 1567 Page: 62
Surname Given Name Age Sex Race Birthplace State County Location Year
SIMON ROWVALAN 38 M W PA TN DICKSON 5-DIST 1900

HQ copy is (also?) very bad on the bottom. About the only thing I can see is
the Month of June or July for Birth. The children are on the next page (62B on HQ).

Sorry not much help from me today.
