Just bought it yesterday. Keeps telling me I have a firewall blocking
program. I called tech support and we diabled Norton firewall but I
still have the same problem. Tech said to reload it. still have same
proble. Any ideas? By the way, my first post on this group.

Have you got a router with a hardware firewall?
Does your ISP use port-blocking ?
If you are using Windoze XP etc. then ITYF that switching off any
third-party firewall will result in the XP etc. version switching
itself on without asking you.

to define the problem
please stae details of your system
and its firewalls
any new app normally needs to be added to your firewall's white list of
applications allowed to use the net / specific ports
ante trojan stuff
FTM 16 calls MS IE 6 or 7 for searches on ancestry
if registration the support numebr can do it for you

Hi Paul,
If you have Zone Alarm then this could be the cause of your problems as
Zone Alarm used to cause this issue with some programs but not all.
Worth checking this out if you do have Zone Alarm.
