Looking up obituaries online from the 1920s and up?

Are there any websites (hopefully free) where you can look up and read
old obituaries? Really old, like from the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s? From
Canada? I'm asking for a friend who asked me. I just spent about an hour
searching Google, but didn't find much, so thought I'd ask here where
hopefully someone who knows more about genealogy than I do will know.

Mikey: The clinker is "look up and read". Digitization is expensive. I
would check local or provincial libraries for indexes. Then, write and
ask for copies of obits. If you are not a local patron, courteous to
include donation for copying efforts. Don't forget local
historical/genealogical societies also.
