Hi.
I'm totally new to this. I have a question. Right now I'm only up
to the 3rd generation, but it's the most recent generation that
has me puzzled . I haven't even started to search for my Great-
Grandparents relatives because the my generation is so confusing.
My Mom and Dad met . They had me . Then mom decided she was a
lesbian and had a child with another woman through artificial
insemination. Dad then also had a child with another woman. Dad
has a sister, who has had 6 children with 2 different
husbands . One of the husbands had a child with a previous wife,
who later had children with another man. So, counting me
there are 11 kids in my generation who were born to 4
different dads and 5 different moms .
From my mom and dad we have 3 different moms,1 Dad and 3
children. From my aunt ( Dad's sister), we have 2 different moms, 3
different dads and 8 children. These numbers include my mom,
dad and aunt. Any ideas on how to notate this?

Just don't try to eat an elephant on one gulp - take a lot of little bites!
You have parents each of you is an individual in the database as are the
various other "spouses". They have relations to each other. They have
children. They have parents... Record the various events one-by-one
and you'll be alright. Looks like you will become familiar with the
choices your software allows for the "marriage" event! In fact that may
become an overriding criterion in choosing genealogy/family history
software.
