Ancestry connection service
Several months ago I had free access to all of ancestry. [now I just
have US]
I found a census entry that someone had corrected and tried to contact
them, but at the time there was no link to the ancestry connection
service.
On the 1871 census she corrected "Elizabeth Dallve" to "Dalloe" with
the note "Through my research, know this Elizabeth married a Samuel
Dalloe"] I have a couple 1880 letters from Elizabeth regarding a
small inheritance and she identifies herself as "Aunt E. Dalloe" I
suspect she is a sister to Andrew Weatherby of Wroxeter.
I just ran across the note again and have been trying to figure out
how to contact someone if you have their ancestry username.
I hesitate to post the username to Usenet as it includes their real
name, but looks like janedoe731. Is there any way to find her or
contact her through Ancestry? [I've spent a few hours reading FAQs but
either it isn't covered or I'm more dense than usual today.
I've tried googling the name in association with dalloe or weatherby -
and googling the username by itself, but no joy.
Searching the ancestry community for Dalloe gets one hit from a 7 yr
old post. It is probably the same family as my letter writer- but I'm
still waiting for an answer to that one. [I sent another today.]
Weatherby gets 972 hits- Weatherby england 140-
None of the 140 look like the researcher that made the correction.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Ancestry connection service
Have you tried Member Connections search for members researching same
ancestor name? If not, go to Ancestry Community, then click on "View
all connections now" under Member Connections (right side of screen).
At the next screen, type in name of your ancestor and you will get a
list of other researchers. I tried it with Elizabeth Weatherby and got
a list of 171 members. On the first page there were 2-3 members with a
janedoe731 type username.
Good luck,
Tony

only person with Samuel Dalloe in their tree? The gal I've been
looking for. Thanks a million.

that it is $15 for 6 months to join so I can contact people. I
paid, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I'd much prefer they
were a little more open about the fees. I notice now you can search
several censuses, but in order to see the page it is some undisclosed
amount. Odd business plan-- but I found what I was looking for,

I've been a 'passive sharer' for 10 years. Find a tree- contact the

I've probably given as much as I've learned. I've been reluctant to
post my own tree because my research waxes and wanes so much. But I
must do it one of these days.
