Naturalization records?

Legg inn av mwebsurfer » 17 mar 2007 02:22:46

I'm looking for a record for Andrew Carmichael, who became a citizen in
1890. He lived in Bridgeport, PA and came from Ireland. Can anyone
suggest how to find this record and what info it would include? I'm
looking for the county and town in Ireland that he came from and his
parents names. Any help will be appreciated.

According to the 1910 Census, 1890 was the year he arrived in the
US. He must have naturalized later, but he was a citizen by 1910.

Websurfer: Info depends upon WHEN he filed his various papers. Early
ones only have a declaration of intent, witnesses and a renunciation
of allegiance to "King/Emperor" etc. The closer to the Feds taking
over in 1906 the more info; however, none that I have seen asks
parents' names. Have you checked his civil and church marriage records
for both parental and locality information?
Also, this pretty much covers PA naturalization:
