Massachusetts is doing a bang-up job of getting their index online at

http://www.sec.state.ma.us/arc/arcsrch/ ... tents.html

If you find your folks there you can send $.50 and a self-addressed,
stamped envelope and they will send you a copy of the page with the
pertinent information (DoB or DoD, parent's names, cause of death,
etc.). For an additional fee (I think it's $5) you can get a copy of the
certificate. They are having some problems with their birth database but
have been very helpful when I emailed them about it and even went so far
as to look up names and tell me the index information. Sure wish some of
the other states would be so helpful!!!
