I'm looking for someone that would be kind enough to go to Calumet Cemetery
to take some pictures of some headstones, namely Rosmary Isabel Mattfolk and
her husband Leo Mattfolk. Rosemary might be buried under her birth name
of Thursa. Rosemary was her Christened name, why the difference I don't
know, we just always called her Aunt Thursa wen I was a kid. Anyway, I've
never been up there and they moved away when I was young, but they should be
buried side-by-side. I live in the southeast corner of Michigan, so it's a
pretty big hike for me. Naturally, if you have snow on the ground you'll
need to wait until it gets warmer. I don't know if they are stand up or
flat stones. If that wouldn't be too much trouble, I would appreciate it.

P.S. their dates of death, if you need it, were:
Aunt Thursa 1/28/1968
Uncle Leo 9/18/1986

Had I started doing research a few years ago, I could have asked one of
their kids to do it, but they all retired to warmer climates over the years
and the grandkids are either off to college, or have moved as well.

And I forgot that Calumet Cemetery also goes by the name of Lakeview
Cemetery.

And one last detail, I'm told that they are buried in the "Murray Plot".

The website you should probably go to is :

Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness.

http://www.raogk.org/

Go into the Houghton County section and look for
people who will photograph cemetery markers.

cheers,

Jonathan

Lakeview Cemetery is closed for the winter, there is too much snow on
the ground to go in there now.
Email me in the spring (April) with the details and I will look for them.

Ken

I just took a look, there doesn't seem to be any volunteers for Houghton
County.

Yeah, sometimes there are volunteers for a county for few years and then
they move away and then a few years there is no one to volunteer, but
someone could start up volunteering at any time, so I check back every
so often to see if a new person signed up. *smile*

I'm a volunteer for King County in Washington State and I have helped
4 people so far with pictures of grave markers. (^:
