I have found the following information for Dorthea LARSDATTER LØVNESET who emigrated to NZ (along with many other members of her extended family):
Dorthea Larsdatter Løvneset (F):
http://www.eidskogslekt.no/hele/p295.htm#i14714
Dorthea Larsdatter Løvneset er datter av Lars Torstensen Havsjømoen og Kristine Hansdatter Vestavig.
Barn av Dorthea Larsdatter Løvneset og Gustav Thoresen:
Ole Gustavsen
Could someone please help me with the following?
1) Was Dorthea married to Gustav Thoresen?
2) When did Dorthea emigrate to NZ?
3) Did Dorthea take her son, Ole Gustavsen, with her when she emigrated?
I would also be interested in dates for the above.
Thanks.

Hello Pip,
Assume this is Dorthea in the 1865 census. Do you have any information about when she arrived in New Zealand?

Hi, Vidar.
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, you have the right person in the census.
I'm not sure exactly when she came to NZ. She may have married in 1875 in NZ, although I cannot prove whether or not it is the same person (yet). If she did marry in NZ in 1875, she married her 1st cousin, Hans JACOBSEN DAMMEN, and she would have emigrated between 1872 and 1875.

According to FamlySearch her son Ole Gustavsen was christened in 1873 and the emigration must have taken place after that.

Thanks, Vidar.
I had the christening record, but hadn't made the connection. Thanks for pointing it out!

Hello Pip, it appears that David Larsen also is looking for information about Dorthea and Hans. If Dorthea had her son Ole christened 6th July 1873 in Eidskog and married Hans in Norsewood the same year she must have left Norway soon after the christening.
Is this the same Hans Jacobsen from Eidskog that May Britt Hansen was looking for in 2001.

Thanks, Vidar.
David LARSEN has already made contact with me and we are trying to sort this out.
Yes, that is the same Hans JACOBSEN. I'll see if I can follow that up.
