Translation Please

My immigrant Norwegian great-grandfather and great-uncle share a tombstone
in Boone County, Nebraska which bears an inscription under each name. I
live in California but was able to have a friend go to the cemetery and take
a series of pictures. Unfortunately she didn't copy the inscription, and
the pictures aren't too clear.

Here's what I have so far:

O. T. Gregerson
Sept 14 1845 - Feb 4, 1907

Menoiere Jumoaige og have Mere Behag i at/ot vandre bon jro
Legemet og vere/oere hjemme hos Herren.

Any corrections and a translation would be very much appreciated.

I have now attempted to transcribe the rest of the inscription on the
Gregerson tombstone. Sorry for the errors, but the letters are very
difficult to see in the photographs.

Men herren er Aanden Men hvor Herrens
Aand er, der erjrihed

I'm rather sure that the text is more like:
Men Herren er Aanden Men hvor Herrens
Aand er, der Frihed

This is from 2. Korinthians chapter 3 verse 17
v17 - »Herren« er Ånden, og hvor Herrens ånd er, dér er der frihed - in
Danish.

From King James' Bible:

17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there
is liberty.

Suggestion:
"Men vi ere frimodige og have mere Behag i at vandre bort fra
Legemet og være Hjemme hos Herren."

This is apparently from the 2 Korinthians chapter 5 verse 8. Before
1904, the latest Danish (also Dano-Norwegian) translation was from
approx. 1870. It may be cited (or adapted) from this translation, which
I do not find on the web. A somewhat newer Danish issue is found here:
http://runeberg.org/dkbibel/47_05.html
v.8: "ja, vi ere frimodige og have snarere Lyst til at vandre bort fra
Legemet og være hjemme hos Herren."
And here: http://www.biblegateway.com/
( put 2 Cor 5:8 in the search box, and choose translation)

Any corrections and a translation would be very much appreciated.

Inger and Iver,

Thank you both so very much! These are wonderful, sourced translations, and
I am going to share them with the rest of my Gregerson family.
Gratefully,
Sonia
