Comments: I have been working on family geneology off and on for many years, and was saddened to know that an uncle destroyed all of my Paternal Grandmother's letters to and from her relatives In Norway which would have given me lots of information. Her name was Olive Johanson Olson. She was born December 17, 1871 in Trondheim Norway. (I think this is correct) and came to America with her sister Olene (Lena)at around age 18 and settled in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She married Lars Olson in or about 1890. They had sons Laurie (my father), Ray, Eldorf, Oscar and John, and a baby daugher who died in infancy. I spoke to an old friend of her family (aged 96 in 1988) trying to track down more information about her home in Norway. He told me that if I were to take the train to Trondheim, I would exit the train station, turn left and walk across the bridge over the Neid Alb (spelling?), turn left again at the end of the bridge and walk up the street (he didn't say how many houses), to a house with a white picket fence in front and this was her family's home. I am wondering if there are still any of her family descendants living there?? Any information I could get would be wonderful. I also have some information on other ancestors in Norway, but have to check on accuracy. All four of my grandparents were either born in Norway, or had parents and/or grandparents that were born in Norway. I would really like to discover relataives living there now as I want to correspond with them, and hopefully visit them some day!! I travelled to Norway in 1988 on an Alumni Choir tour (Augsburg Choir Alumni -- Minneapolis MN -- directed by Leland Sateren. Wonderful trip, but would have been even better had I had an opportunity to find some relatives before we went. Maybe next time.!!
