Web Page access
This isn't a genealogy specific computer issue, but I wonder if anyone can
help me.
I am using IE and having trouble seeing a particular web page.
The URL is http://www.bookcrossing.com
Others on the BC mailing list at Yahoo can access the page fine.
The trouble started about three weeks ago, when I find access
is nigh on impossible.
At first I thought it might be IE so I tried Mozila Firefox, but I
still can not see the page. My anti virus is AVG and I have it
updated everyday, I have deactivated it and tried, and at first I
though this was the problem, but apparently not. I have added the
BookCrossing URL to my accept list, but this has made no change.
I have emailed support at BC, but had no response.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be the problem,
and how I can rectify the situation.

Re: Web Page access

Yes, I tried Firefox, still nothing, however,
I restored the computer to as far back as Jan 12th.
Since then I had only done several bits.
1. Downloaded Mozilla
2. Upgraded Skype
3.Usual AVG & Windows updates.
4. Java Update
5. NetMeet
I then gradually went through them one by one to see what the problem was.
Actually I can't tell as I have upgraded my AVG, but disabled while on BC
site. I don't open attachments anyway until they are checked.
Currently, I can access the site, but for how long is anyone's guess.
