Mortum/Mothrum

Have just recently found out I have a Kristiansand connection. Also I am in the process of putting together a research trip to Norway in the spring and would welcome any suggestions or help.
My first question is can anyone tell me exactly what church it is listed as Kristiansand in the LDS index records for a baptism in 1736?

Also if anybody has and information on the surname Motrum/Murthrum

my 4th grandfather was
OLE WILLUMSEN MUTHRUM
Christened 8 Sept 1736 Kristiansen
father: Ole Willumsen Motrum (a carpenter)
mother: Karen Hansdatter Moss

Ole had at least 2 marriages, but the one I am interested is was 7 Dec 1779 with
Inger Hansdatter

Ole Willumsen Muthrum became a master shoemaker

They had several children to include their daughter:
Birthe Sinrene Olesdatter Muthrum
Born 15 Jul 1787

Brithe married Thomas Pedersen Grønseth from Trondheim on 15 Apr 1815 in Kristiansand. They then moved to Trondheim. I don't know Thomas occupation, but he was the son of a master shoe maker. He died about two years later (leaving behind 2 very young children)
At some point Brithe came back to Kristiansand as in the 1865 Kristiansand census she shows up as a widow in the household of Ole Jacobsen a master shoe maker. This maybe a nephew as she had a brother names Jacob

I am wondering about the mastershoe maker thing. Is this something that Kristiansand is noted for? In my Grønseth line of master shoe makers, several have had an association with Kristiansand for some reason or another. Twice there has been marriages that the wife is from Kristiansand and the daughter of a master shoe maker.

I would appreciate any information or suggestions.
Thanks :)

Hello

I'll try to answer two out of three questions (for now):

1- The church in Kristinsand is Kristiansand cathedral in the middle of city center / marked square. There was and still is a much older church called Oddernes church from bef. 1100, but that one served the rural district araound the city / town.

2- Shoemakers in Kristiansand: This was not at typical trade only for Kristiansand, but in most Norw. towns were relatively many shoemakers. Two of my ancestors in KRS was shoemakers araound 1800. What was typical about the shoemakers in town, was that many came from small farms often in rural (coastal) areas, the farsm were small, there were not much farm land between rocks and pond and marsh-lands, so the farmers relied on cattle, and they often had a trade as shoemakers on the side, fromthe skin / hides form the cattle, often sons of small farmers came to town to make shoemaking their trade.

3. The family name: Could'nt find it in the 1801 cencus, but will try the library.

4. Birthe Serine born 1787: Found one Birthe Serine 14 years i 1801 cencus.
"Logerende, gaar paa fattigskolen" - means that she lived as a lodger with strangers, and attended the school for poor students. She was not listed with a family name or "Olesdatter", so it is a possibility that this could be another Birthe Serine.

I'll try to find out more.
