Try reinstalling it.

Some functions, such as sorting, are delegated to other program files run as
subprocesses - and one of those is an MS-DOS program.

If that doesn't help, contact the author of the program at the address
designated in the help file.

Only trouble is it is happening to a lot of the MS DOS programs

Have you examined that autoexec.nt file (with Wordpad) as yet? It should be 2KB in
size and begin with:
--------------------------------
@echo off

REM AUTOEXEC.BAT is not used to initialize the MS-DOS environment.
REM AUTOEXEC.NT is used to initialize the MS-DOS environment unless a
REM different startup file is specified in an application's PIF.

REM Install CD ROM extensions
lh %SystemRoot%\system32\mscdexnt.exe

REM Install network redirector (load before dosx.exe)
lh %SystemRoot%\system32\redir

REM Install DPMI support
lh %SystemRoot%\system32\dosx
------------------------------------

Between the time that it all last ran correctly and the time that it first failed,
what if any new software did you install. What new applications did you run? What
else unusual has happened with the system? Did you add or modify any user
accounts? etc?

We were only trying to find out if that file had been corrupted somehow.

I'll assume you mean that you've done that via Internet Explorer and not via Windows
Explorer/My Computer. Take a look at:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;324767
and see if that helps you.
