North Family History Web Site

I used GedcomToHTML found at http://www.pidcock.co.uk/gth/ to process
the GEDCOM file to make it into a very good looking web site. I
modified the code slightly to include other fields that were not
included in the original script. You can get a copy of that from
http://www.levinorth.com/download/gedcomToHTML_MOD.zip. The script
uses Perl which can be downloaded for windows or linux at
http://www.perl.org/get.html. If you have a large GEDCOM, which I do
for Levi North, you will want to make sure you have plenty of room as a
file is created for each individual and source record. This might seem
as a waste of space, but the speed in delivering the content is very
fast and clean. The Template files are hard to figure out. Once you
get them figured out, you can modify them so that your files are
included in a website you already have developed.

By the way, I didn't write the original code, only modified it to make
it work with my site and do what I want. The original writer is at
http://www.pidcock.co.uk/gth/, and he did a great job with it.

Any questions about the code, please go to
http://www.pidcock.co.uk/gth/, or email me using programming @(at)
jaynorth .(dot) net.

Enjoy.

Be sure and feed the modified version back to pidcock. I is usually very
interested in mods folks have made. I have contributed a few things
myself. It is a good program.

I emailed him through his form that I have made changes and to contact
me. I don't know his direct email, so I can't just send it to him. I
am hoping he will either contact me or just get the source from the
link above.
