Gjengir mailen her.:

My great-grandfather, John Iverson, immigrated to Minnesota from Norway, possibly through Michigan. He did not say from where in Norway, nor his parents' names. He was a carpenter who constructed buildings. Unfortunately, many of the immigrants did not use their farm name & he didn't. We have been trying to find evidence of the place of his birth for many years. I have matched closely to the DNA of some people whose ancestors came from Ørkdal and around there. I am wondering if my John was the Johan Iverson Volden who immigrated in 1870. He was about the right age & that was around when mine came. The immigrants tended to use "John" rather than "Johan."
I think he looked a lot like John Wolden, who remained in Norway & might be a younger brother but I have few pictures. I also read that Ole Volden is thought to have also come to Minneapolis in the 1920s after Michigan. The Sons of Norway organization was founded in Minneapolis mostly by immigrants from Ørkdal.
What I am wondering is if you have any photos of Johan Iverson Volden or has anyone from the family taken a DNA test that my uncle or I could compare to? Thanks for your help!

Hvis noen vet måter å finne ut hva som hente med denne Johan Iversen Volden etter ankomst i USA så ville det vært fint.
