Odran / Ordan

Hi,

I am tyring to help a woman in America find her Norwegian ancestors. This is the information I have:

Anne Eriksen Haugen, born Dec 1853 in Ordan or Odran, Norway. She left Norway for America in 1870. I don't know if she left alone or with her parents.

Does anyone know what "Odran or Ordan" might be? Her second husband was from Ådal (Aadalen) in Buskerud. I looked in Ådal but could not find her there.

Anna Eriksdatter 17 f Nordre Odalen - Milwauce . Perhaps this is who you are looking for.
In Our Language we pronouns Odalen--to Odaln( Odarn). She emigrated in 1870.

The name of the place is Aurdal, not Odal, they are close enough when spoken to be mixed up. If you look at the passenger list below and in the link, you can see that there is made a correction, with reference to the farm and county in the 1865 Census.

Here are all members of the Eriksen family, they emigrated together. The family father Erik Olsen is not among them, unless he had passed away, my guess is that he had probably done what many others also did; emigrated earlier to find a good place for the family to settle.

Thank you Villy and Olaf for your messages, also. In America, she used the name Anne Eriksdatter Haugen, or just Anne Haugen. This makes me think that the Anne Eriksdatter at the farm "Hougen" (posted by Åsbjørg) might be the correct one.
