Looking for birth place and parents of:
Anders Engebretson, 1782-1856 - he is my 3x GGF
Married to Barbo Olsdatter Lien

I found him in"Hemsedals Slektshistorie, 1693-1975" by Hans Flaten. pp 297 - 299. He lived on Haug farm, Gnr 70, Bnr 1, Haugsslette. As I read the source bygdebok it is not known where he arrived from.

Is there any information that could lead to his parents and place of birth?

My dilemma is that I cannot locate any information on the birthplace for Anders. According to the Hemsedal bygdebok he may have come from Valdres. Is there any possibility of finding his parents? I understand that this may be impossible to find.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. This looks like a very good possibility and I am in the process of following up with a search in the Toten parish bygdebok. I also found him on the DigitalArkivet site with a birth date of 15 Mar 1781 and parents of same names. Farm name looks like "Gryte". Don't know if this is a possible farm name.
