Hi
When Hanna dies she left husband and 7 children behind.
This might tell you if the two daughters were still alive when their mother died.

Re: his two daughters to america
thank you ann, gunhild and vivi for all this information and I was fantastic to find out what happened to hansin as this family is a bit of a mystery especially after Johan left his wife for a new start in usa and how only part of his family went with him and how he could of left his wife and the rest of his kids never to see them again as far as I know
But ALLETE is still a mystery and it would be nice to complete the family so if anybody has any information on what happened to ALLETE it would be appreciated

Re: his two daughters to america
Hello,
Alette used the name Alice after coming to America. In biographies of William R Swenson (1906, 1922), his wife Hansine says her sister Alice is married to Christ B Hanson and they are farming in North Dakota.
In the US Census 1900 Alice and Chris are living in Green Co, WI, (married in 1891, daughter, Mabel E, 3 yrs old born in WI).
US Census 1910, Alice, Chris, Mabel and son, Roy B (born 1903, SD) living Fieldon, MN.
US Census 1920, Alice, Chris, Mabel, Roy living Fargo, ND.
US Census 1930, Alice and Mabel, Fargo, ND, Chris is patient at Cass County Hospital, Fargo, ND and Roy in Jamestown, SD (divorced, chef in a hotel cafe).
US Census 1940, Alice (now a widow) and Mabel (clerk in a department store, single), Fargo, ND and Roy (married, wife Helen, both restaurant cooks).
In a list created by the Red River Valley Genealogical Society of Fargo funeral home records are Chris B Hanson born 1859, died 1935 and Alice (Mrs Chris) born 1871, died 1950. No proof that these are the correct people but very likely even though Alices' birthdate is wrong.
There is a Social Security Death record that lists a Mabel Hanson, born 22 Jan 1897, died Sep 1976, last residence Minot, ND. Again no proof that this is the correct person, but a possibility.
Social Security Death record for Roy B, born 12 Jun 1903, SD, died 29 Oct 1968, Contra Costa County, CA.
So far, no indication that Roy had children and it looks like Mabel didn't marry or, if she did, it would have been late in life and likely did not have children.
It is interesting that in the above mentioned biographies that Hansine claims that her parents lived in Norway and (in 1922) were both dead. Clearly not the case since John was still alive and Hansine was the person who gave the information on his death certificate in 1932. He must have been a great embarassment for her.
I have done the research on William R Swenson's family because his mother, Sønnøv Wesnæs is my great great grand aunt but have not met any of the descendants of this family so have no idea if they could add more.

Carolyn Love
Alette used the name Alice after coming to America. In biographies of William R Swenson (1906, 1922), his wife Hansine says her sister Alice is married to Christ B Hanson and they are farming in North Dakota.
In the US Census 1900 Alice and Chris are living in Green Co, WI, (married in 1891, daughter, Mabel E, 3 yrs old born in WI).
