Thonetta Johansdatter Engelandsbakken - 1858

Hello,

This child was born to Thonetta on 8 May 1858. I am trying to find out what became of Thonetta. I can't find her in the 1865 census. Her daughter Ingeborg is living with the father in 1865 and then went to America with the father.

John has a child born in 1858. She bears his surname. Ingeborg Johnsdatter.
He has a maid, Ingeborg Gundersdatter born1832. Maybe this is his little sister, since she also has a father named Gunder?
Johns daughter named Ingeborg,, the same name as his servant,, suggests that the maid is his sister.

John and Thonetta are not married. The child is "uægte". Thonetta are also listed first in the church register another sign that parents are not married.

I can not find Thonetta anywhere, which may indicate that she is dead. A mother dead ,can be the reason the Amerika trip.

Here is the death of Thonetta number 86.As you see she dies in 1864.Thars why you couldnt find her in 1865 census.
