I am trying to help an American relative find information on her Norwegian ancestors.
Over here, Elina is called Ella...she married Lars/Louis Fagerli/Fagerlie in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Sorry I can not put in the link...
But Ella is a widow in the 1900 American census...she is in Eau Claire, age 39 (f. ca 1861)....but her name is misspelled "Erlach" Fagerlie, son Alfred f. July 1893...(Alfred is age 6 in 1900 census)
Ella immigrated about 1886 (according to the 1900 census).

Her husband Lars/Louis died 1899 in Eau Claire.
The name Fagerlie is sometimes spelled Fagerli in the American census records. His family was from Meldal (Sør Trøndelag)...we know about that side of the family...so we don't need help with them.

Ella was one of 6? children and her father was a farmer in Hamar, Norway.

That is all I know at this time.

I looked for Halvor in Clay county,MN (where Barnesville is) in the 1900 census.
No luck...I wonder if he used a different name...or "moved on" to a different place.

I understand this query should be under the "Stange" location, but I was told by our American cousins they thought the family came from Hamar...
