Re: HELP TO READ DEATH REGISTER
She was a cotter´s widow (huusmandsenke) 70 years old. The last name has therefore to be a cotters place.
The same name is written by the son no 3 (Johannes). I think it is starting with the letter J. Can it be Jahnsrud (Jansrud)?
Here is some other names on J in Asker and Bærum: http://www.ableksikon.no/j

Re: HELP TO READ DEATH REGISTER
I think it says Jahrseie, a place under the farm Jar in East Bærum.

Re: HELP TO READ DEATH REGISTER
Helsot or Helsott means gravely ill - a deadly disease with no cure.
Re: HELP TO READ DEATH REGISTER
Ja, her fikk vi bekreftelse på at det var Jahrseie i østre Bærum, som Anja foreslo.

Re: HELP TO READ DEATH REGISTER
Another word for sott = pest (norwegian) = plague (english)
And hel = hole (all over)
PS: It is fine if you will write small letters, it will be more easy to read.

Re: HELP TO READ DEATH REGISTER
sorry dag i have lived in australia now for 41 years and i was 9 years old when my parents brought me here so my norwegian is very limited and i did not understand what you said in the previous post but yes i did know that she lived at jahrs but was unsure what was written in the last box on the second page on the death notice i was hoping it explained why she was named schrodersdatter on her death notice but augustinesdatter on her birth and marriage to ole christophersen and yes i have written this in small letters sorry about the capitals but pressed a wrong button on the laptop
my norwegian is getting better but when you speak english for 99/ of the day it is hard

Re: HELP TO READ DEATH REGISTER
I did not mean ONLY small letters (he he)! It will be very fine if you can use both type of letters as all we others do. It is hard to read all in one very long period.
I will translate what I wrote in norwegian - later on this day ... I have no time just no.

Here is what I said yesterday 28 Aug 2011 at 12:14:01 (as directly and simply translated as possible):
Yes, here we got the confirmation that it was "Jahrseie" (it means a place belonging to the farm of Jahr) in the eastern Bærum, as Anja thought.
This link you did put in yourself, so you had this before you posted your question, Ole Vidar?
But you did not perhaps discover that the same name was found in both of the links.
Do you understand norwegian, because you have a norwegian name?
