Residence -- applied where?

[FTM2005]

I am new to genealogy and have a question about tracking residences. How
would one track the following:

Man - prior to marriage, lives at address A
Woman - prior to marriage, lives at addresses B and C

Man marries Woman

During marriage, the couple lives at a few places over the years.

Which would be the more correct or common method of tracking the residence?
A) Would the Man's records prior to marriage be kept with him?
B) Would the Woman's records prior to marriage be kept with her?
C) Tracking the residences after marriage, would it be appropriate to edit
the Marriage information, adding the residences to the notes, or would it be
more appropriate to pick the Man or Woman and edit their individual facts?
Note that in FTM2005, Residence is not a fact under the marriage window.

Thanks in advance,
Steve

Steve,

The way you do this is up to you. The way we handle it in FTM (we are up to
FTM11), we put the residence before marriage in the "Facts" window under the
"More" section for each person along with the date of the marriage such as
"Bef 19 Jun, 1854". You could also put the information in the "Notes" if you
wish.

I don't recall what FTM allowed with version 9 but I believe that you can
add any fact title than you want; you don't have to use the ones that come
up on the list of facts. The new "Fact" name will then be added to the
pop-up list. There is no reason not to add Residence as a fact to any of the
"fact" windows. After the marriage, you could add the residence of the
couple in the marriage box along with the date and location. You can add
Residence as many times as you wish as folks move from place to place.
