Er det noen som kjenner til denne Even Sonlie, som er omtalt i boka History of Richland County, side 19 ? (Utgitt: Wahpeton Nord Dakota 1977)?

Der står:
"In 1867 a native of Norway, Even Sonlie, after being in Wisconsin, came back to Norway, an the American fever began to spread over the district of Rennebo. Mon. Sonlie, it seems, had obtained a considerable amount of money during his stay in Wisconsin an this, together with the fact the home district was already crowded and uncomfortable, served as an inducement for young men and women to leave their fatherland............"

Denne mannen er ukjent for oss i DIS-Trollheimen.
Kan han ha vært emigrantagent i Trondheim?

Can you explain...was this written in 1977 or did you mean 1877?

When was he in North Dakota...and he went back to Norway??...but then he returned to the USA..is that right?

I understand someone in the USA wrote the paragraph...but it was written poorly.
To me it seems that Even returned to Norway in 1867...but then it appears (to me!) that he left "the fatherland" (meaning Norway??) and returned to the USA when "American fever" spread over Rennebu..

That is my interpretation...
