Any thoughts (pro/con) on RootsMagic, the successor to Family Origins?
How does it compare to the other "big names"?

The thing is, genie programs are like cars -- some folks
would druther push a Ford than drive a Chevvy, while others
wouldn't be caught dead in anything but a Chrysler. Any of
the three will get you to the grocery store. So you have to
pick the one you like, no matter how feeble your reason for
liking it is -- I know one woman who choses her cars by the
design of the logo and a man who picks his vehicles by which
side of it has the gas fill.

I absolutely loved that analogy. Very fitting. But I will not purchase
a vehicle where the fuel fill is on the wrong side. I choose my family
tree software by the one that has the best user interface (in my
opinion) so I guess that goes hand in hand.

Re: Software
Hi Anon,
I use Rootsmagic, I came over when Ultimate Family Tree went out of
business. I love it. But as others have mentioned you have to try for
yourself.

Re: Software
Thanks, everyone! As some of you suggested, I think I'll end up with a
couple of programs running but I wanted to get an idea from those who
have had experience first.
Thanks again!
