Ingeborg Knudsdatter Ås f. 1787

I'm looking for the parents of my gggg-grandmother, Ingeborg Knudsdatter Ås.
She married Aret Aretsson Nerås in 1818, and she died in 1867 in Nerås, Vestnes, Møre og Romsdal, Norway.

I found she was born 1787 "Kloppen på Ås", but I don't know what 'kloppen' means.

You'll find Ingeborg in 1865 Census for Væstnes, Møre & Romsdal Link here

She is born in Vestnes ref to this census, so this query should be moved to Vestnes, Romsdal, Møre & Romsdal by Moderator Akershus.

There is a farm called Aas in Væsness in census 1801, but I don't know if this is the right farm But may some people here with knowledge of this area can help you further.

That makes more sense to me. Is there a bygdebok I should check?

I see a recent entry in Ancestral File gives her birthplace as Tomrefjord, Romsdal, Kloppen 4, Norway, but still no parents.

Yes, there is a Bygdebok: "Gard og slekt", Tomrefjord, Øverås, Nerås by Olav Rekdal and Marit Hoel Rekdal. Page 142 you will find about Aret Aretson Nerås (1772-1841) and his 3.rd. wife Ingeborg Knutsdtr. Ås (1787-1867). They married in 1818, and they got 7 children: a) Marit b. 1818, b) Kari b. 1820, c) (Ane) Marit b. 1822, d) Knut b. 1825, e) Olava b. 1828, f) Ola b. 1829 and g) Anders b. 1832.
Aret had also 7 children with his first wife and 4 with his second.

Kloppen is a small farm in Åsbygda in Vestnes about 8 kilometer from Nerås which is also in Vestnes. There is no Bygdebok for this part of the municipal yet (Åsbygda).

Klopp/Kloppen is dialect and means a little bridge over a small creek or steps at the frontdoor, built of stone (something to step on).

Ingeborg's father Knut Hanson Steinaøygard Ås (1745-1817) was the owner of Kloppen 1771-1803.

In 1772 Knut married Sigrid Pedersd. Sørås (1742-73)
Her first child was named Hans, he died 06.02.1773, when he was 4 days old.
She died 14.02.1773.

In 1773 Knut married Kari Knutsd. Hjelvik (1749-1838)
Children: Sigrid 1774- , Kari 78-78, Hans 78-78, Kari 79-, Hans 83- , Ingeborg 87- , Tron 95-95.

1. Sigrid, 1796 married Iver Knuds. Hjelvik - settled at Åsgjera.
2. Kari and
3. Hans, twins, Kari lived for 3 weeks, Hans for 10 days.
4. Kari, 1801 married to Hans Ols. Gjelvig.
5. Hans got the farm.
6. Ingeborg, 1818 married to Aret Arets. Nerås at Aretgaren Nerås.
7. Tron lived for 1 day.

Kari became 90 years old.
Ingeborg's brother Hans became 89 years old. He was married twice and got 6 children. 4 settled in the Vestnes area.
