G'day all!

1) How did immigrants travel from Quebec to Milwaukee in 1869?

Norway Heritage indicates that:

In 1869 the Martha departed from Christiania on Apr. 22nd, and arrived at
Quebec on June 14th. She was sailing in ballast and was carrying 255
steerage passengers and 4 cabin passengers. On May 23rd, a man by the name
of And. Christophersen Svendby died of phthisis (wasting away TB?). She was
mastered by Captain L. Thorsen and had a crew of 14. The passage was
announced in the Hedemark and Christiania newspapers. Passenger agent was O.
N. Tandberg in Christiania. The passenger list for this voyage was archived
by the National Archives of Canada [NAC], and has been transcribed and
included in our online passenger list database. The passenger were also
listed in the Christiania Police Emigration Records, kept by the
Statsarkivet in Norway

2) They also have an 1867 advertisement for that voyage in 1867. Is there
an archive of Kristiania newspapers from early 1869 which might have an ad
for the 1869 voyage (which might explain just how the final section of
transport was accomplished)?
