Gunhild Gurine Olsen patient at Eg Asyl help?

Will someone help me translate records from Eg Asyl and Møllendal Asylum? Gunhild Gurine Olsen was a patient at Eg Asyl from 03 sep 1904 then transferred to Møllendal on 12 oct 1910. She died at Bergen Årstad 13 oct 1914. I wish i could find out WHAT she suffered from...
She was born 03 may 1850 in Nibe, near Risør frather Thor Ingebretsen.

Hallo!! According to the Årstad (in Bergen) Church Register you might read under DØDSÅRSAK (that means cause of death) that it's written "Sindssykdom". Thats the Norwegian word for Mental Disease. I can't come any closer.......(I think she was born 1860 , not 1850 - but might be wrong). Married to ship's carpenter Lars Olsen.

Hi Sally, I see you are active on several arenas. I'm afraid Hroar gives a correct explanation when it comes to Gurine's diagnosis, and Eg Asyl was the central place of treatment for people from Aust-Agder during this period of time, and even up until today. Mental diseases would however also include severe nerve problems etc. Why she was transferred to Møllendal needs further explanation.

Eg Asyl together with Nevengården in Bergen and Gaustad in Oslo were mental hospitals
Møllendal in Bergen was a branch under Nevengården. There were connections between the three hospitals.
Gunhild Gurine Olsen was in those hospitals in general due to mental illness wich also in church records is listed as cause of death.
Why they moved the patient from Eg to Møllendal I dont know.

I don't think it was mentioned, but Eg asyl was located in Kristiansand in Vest-Agder.
It was, and still is, a mental hospital, located close by the new hospital serving the county of Vest-Agder.
Eg is no longer called sindsygeasyl though.
