Isak Hansen Lundgaard, f. 1841

Legg inn av gj09424 » 24 feb 2015 21:08:52

We are preparing a database of soldiers -- primarily Norwegian -- who served in the Wisconsin 15th Regiment during the US Civil War.

I am looking to find the date of birth, farm and parents of Isak Hansen Lundegaard (Lundgaard) who is said to have been born in Eidsvoll in 1841.

Unfortunately, the church book that I found on the Digital Archives only lists 3 births for that year and place and Isak was not one of them.

Can anyone suggest any other sources of information that would be useful for me?

Hi

Unfortunately, the church records from before 1877 were lost when the vicarage burned down in 1877. It seems to me that what you found is a (partial) reconstruction. It’s the same handwriting for all the years!

I found however in the 1865 census this on Lundgaard farm, who maybe is the brother and father of Isak.

Hans Larsen is a widower and as said maybe Isaks father.

Hei Margit ~

This is a great find !

Do you know how these records were developed?

Might we be able to ascertain whether or not the Hans Larsen at the Lundgaard farm in the 1865 census was his father?

Takk!!

:)

John

John,
My father's maternal side of the family comes from Eidsvold, so I am use to looking elsewhere for records as the Church books records burned.

I would write to this person and ask what else is available and how they put these records together.
