Sedsvold farm

Legg inn av gj04380 » 05 jan 2011 20:28:00

I am trying to learn more about Johannes Pedersen and his son Andreas Johannesen who are both living on the farm Sedsvold in 1865 and 1875. Can anyone tell me if they are mentioned in the Ullensaker Bygdebok? Takk!

You can find them in the Ullensaker bygdebok, yes!

1. Andreas Johannessen Sesvoll, b. 1838.
He married Maren Sesvoll.
(Maren was 2. married to Olaus Jakobsen Majorsæter)

His parents:
2. Johannes Pedersen, b. 1793 in Eidsvoll, Akershus, Norge.
3. Marte Pedersdatter, b. 1804, d. 1862 in Sesvoll, Ullensaker, Akershus, Norge.

I don't have that book. - This is what I have in my database.
Andreas and Maren might have had children. But I have not registered any.

Gunnar.

Tusen takk for this information. I am trying to prove the identity of Johannes Pedersen. I am tracing a Johannes Pedersen Nyqvist who emigrated from Sweden to Eidsvoll in 1807 with his parents and four siblings. Three of the siblings move to Nes around 1822. Census records show them being born in Eidsvoll instead of Sverige. I am hoping Johannes is one of the family. He has another son Jens Erdmann Pedersen born on the farm Bjørke in Eidsvoll abt 1831. So sometime between 1831-1838 Johannes Pedersen moved to Ullensaker. I was hoping the bygdebok would shed light on his origins.

Jens Erdman and his wife are also to be found in the Ullensaker bygdebok:
- at Nordmyren u Fløgstad.
They emigrated to America in 1872.

Ullensaker bygdebok tells about Johannes Pedersen that he was born in Eidsvoll about 1793.
Johannes og Marthe had many children, many of them died when they were small or young.
Andreas born 1838 took the farm after his father in the 70-s.
Marthe died 1862, agde 58. Johannes lived many yers after this.

Thanks for this information. It is a problem. The 1875 census has Johannes Pedersen born 1797. The 1865 census says 1798. The person Johannes Pedersen Nyqvist was born 1797. Also in the 1801 census for Eidsvoll there is only one Johannes Pedersen age 2. Johannes Pedersen Nyqvist arrives from Sweden in 1807 so he is not in the census. There is no Johannes Pedersen born 1793 in the census. I still wonder if Johannes Pedersen from Ullensaker is the missing Johannes Pedersen Nyqvist?

Robert Evensen skrev:The 1875 census has Johannes Pedersen born 1797. The 1865 census says 1798.

These years are usually estimated. (- often a litle bit too high/old) They might be uncertain.

I'd guess there is a bygdebok for Eidsvoll - as well.
If you're lucky, you might find some more clues there.

Gunnar.
