Mina Rikka Nielsdtr.

This is fantastic, Margit... nothing less.
You're -- as always -- very helpful in these matters. Thanks a lot!
Wonder if their descendants are still living in Rice, Minnesota?
(For the record; Their family name was Lunder (like their farm was named in Våler/Norway) – spelled with an L).

Yes I know it is Lunder, I am still looking, but it is like they disappeared. Maybe someone else can pick up on them again someplace in America. I will try later.

After having put all your information into a kind of 'system', I've ended up with some tricky questions;
Mina Rikke's & Iver's whereabouts are unknown after the US Fed. Census of 1880.
• Are they possibly dead before the next Census?
• If so, where & when?
After living in Kenyon, Goodhue County/Minn. (1872-75) the family have appearently moved from there to Richland, Rice County/Minn. (by 1880) and furter on to Oslo, Brookings County/Dakota where they are reg'd by 1905.
• This is not a common living pattern of homesteaders in those days?
In 1905 they've all changed their family name to Elverud (at first I thought that there might be a mix-up between two families which members had almost corresponding Christian names; Albert's birth place (Kenyon) and surname by his death (Elverud) make together the confirmation that there's actually only one family in question).
• I haven't ever noticed any link to the surname Elverud. Why did they choose that one?
Have you some spare time to figure this out?
