Is it possible to find if Alice Wik is born in Ward County, ND, May 24, 1913 in Ward County, ND? Parents Emil Helmer A. Wik born 1881 and Gurine Marie Wik born 1886. Married 1906. Children: Marie Jacobine born March 29, 1907, Alma Pearl born April 28, 1908, Edvin Gerhard born 1910, Ragnhild Martha born July 29, 1911 and Alice 1913. Thanks

I did find the family in the 1910 Ward co, ND census...with the 3 "older" children, Marie, Alma and "Edward"...Father's name is listed as Amil Wik in 1910 census...

But, I am having trouble finding the family in the 1920 census...

Thanks for checking. That's correct, they went back to Norway when Alice was 3 months old. Is it possible to find the name of the town and the church where Alice was baptised in Ward County?

Well, in 1910 the township they live in is Cameron township.
Emil was a farmer...so they did not really live in a "town"....
Not sure how to figure out what the closest church would be back then.
My father grew up one county east of Ward county (McLean) during the 1920s...but he lived in a town (Mercer). The Lutheran minister (missionary) for their town had just arrived in 1906...
At that time, I think some of these ministers in North Dakota traveled from township to township, or they did their baptisms/marriages right out of their own homes...that was how it was in Mercer, ND in 1910...

Perhaps someone else in this forum can offer better advice than me....

Probably a Church in the Cameron Township area of Ward County, I have the Ward County Bio Book and can check which Church is in the area, but cannot check baptismal records:
Cameron Township was later dissolved and became part of Ryder Township and Douglas Township.
