Martin Ingebretsen/Engebrectsen f.1812
2.Anne Martinsdatter f.19.desember 1847,Hilden,Gran

Hei Mette!
I think I found Martin in the 1860 census, but his last name is spelled "Ingtion"!!
I guess you have Ancestry so you can find the record?? The rest of his family is on a totally different section of the census (it tells you where to find them once you find Martin)...living in Newport, Kilbourne City, Columbia county, Wisconsin. His wife "Olinda"...and a female "Betsy" age 20 are there. Along with Peter Anderson age 20 and Brandley (?) Anderson.
Tell me if you are able to find these records.
mvh Patty

Hello Patty....
I found them under the last name Ingtion you gave me in the 1860 United States Federal Census.
Thank you...
If you and someone else want to help me further on this Family, please do that.

Re: Martin Ingebretsen/Engebrectsen f.1812
Hei igjen Mette!
When I located Martin in the 1870 census, his last name was "indexed" as Ingbertson.
Is that what you found, too?
For the census information I use Heritage Quest through my local library...so perhaps Ancestry has his name spelled differently? You mentioned it was spelled "Ingebretson" when you found him in the 1870 census.
He is age 58 and only "Olena", age 60, is with him in 1870, so I guess the daughters might have married by then...or are living somewhere else...
I could not find the family in the 1880 Federal census.

Hei Mette!
I tried to search for Pernille Pederson and her family without any luck.
Can you give the names of some of her family...husband etc., years of birth perhaps?
I have been busy lately but will check back and try to help you some more.
Do you know if these families stayed in Wisconsin?
Ha det fint!

Hei Patty...
Jeg skal ta dette på engelsk, men har sett at du har skrevet litt på norsk.
Syns du er flink når du prøver, for min engelsk er ikke perfekt.
Did you understood what I wrote in Norwegian Patty?
About Pernille and her her family.
Pernille was born 4 Feb 1810 in Gran, Norway and her husband was Amund Pedersen/Pederson born 1808 in Gran, Norway.
In Norway Pernilles last name was Engebrechtsen/Ingebretsen/Engebretsen.
They emigrated with their 2 sons and came to New York 2 Aug 1851 with bark Richard Cobden.
Pernille had the last name Pederson when she came to America.
1. Peder Amundsen/Amundson maybe Pederson in US born 17 Jul 1839 in Gran, Norway
2. Brede Amundsen/Amundson maybe Pederson in US born 6 Feb 1842 in Gran, Norway
When I was looking after Pernilles brother Martin I saw that Pernille and Martin emigrated together with their Family.
As you maybe see I have information about him here.
Pernille and Amund are on the same site as Martin in the emigration protocol
I know that Martin was in Wisconsin and I think Pernille and Amund was there too, since they emigrated together.
I can`t find them anywhere and I`m very grateful for your help.
This is the information when they arrived to America:

Hei igjen Mette!
Ja, jeg forstår hva du skriver på norsk...But you have to forgive me, my Norwegian is FAR from perfect!
I'll try and do a little more searching with what you have written about Pernille and family.
This is just a hobby for me...I am certainly not an expert, but I enjoy trying to find the pieces of these "genealogi" puzzles!

Hei Mette!
Did you take a good look at the 2 "farm workers" listed with "Olinda" in the 1860 census?
Peter Anderson age 20 and "Branly" (?) Anderson age 17...hard to tell if they are any relation to Olina/Olinda and Martin. But, Peter is at least close in age to "Peder" Amundson, son of Pernille and Amund...
I just can not seem to find Pernille and Amund in the censuses.

Hei igjen Mette!
Just a quick thought...Does Ancestry have some sort of Civil War data base...Since the 2 "farm workers" (Peder and "Branly" (?)...) listed with Olinda/Olina were of the right age, perhaps they had to register for the civil war...(which began in the early 1860s).
I think there is a Civil War Pension data base in Ancestry.
Then the question becomes did they use the last name Anderson?
All for now!
