Helena Iversdaughter from Bjugn/Stjørna - in U.S.

Helena Iversdaughter Stallvik emigrated to U.S. sometimes between 1875 (her confirmation date in Norway) and 1882. In U.S. she gave birth to a son, Henry Magnus, born Sept. 8. 1883 in Minneapolis. She gave her son over to Mr. Charles Madsen (of Danish descend) for upbringing.
There was a division of an inheritance in Norway where Henry Magnus claims to be Helena's only heir. I do not know which year the division prosess took place, but we are informed that nobody has heard from Helena in 22 years. Henry Magnus is also referred to as Henry Magnus Madsen.
What happened to mother and son over there?

Helena was born i Bjugn June 19th 1860, so the age matches to the emigration list. Her mother, also named Helena (Hansdaughter Staldvik) died in the childbirth and her father was Iver Olsen Oyan.
When we see that her ticket was prepaid in the U.S., and that she brought a 1/2 year daughter with her, it raises more questions. And if she is "Our Helena", why did she live in Verdal when she listed for emigration? So far I have found no Connection between Bjugn/Stjørna and Verdal. 10 persons enrolled from Verdal to emigrate June 16th 1882, most of them Young unmarried men and women.
