Esther Norma (Buvarp) Olson

Esther Norma (Buvarp) Olson, 94, of Virginia, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at the Virginia Regional Medical Center.

She went to be with her Lord and Savior.

Esther was born April 13, 1917, in Virginia, to Andrew and Marianne (Aarem) Buvarp. She graduated from Virginia High School in 1934. After attending beauty school, she moved to Rockford, Ill., and then to Minneapolis, where she worked as a beautician, before moving back to her beloved Virginia. In 1946, she married Irving Olson, and in 1956 they moved to Parkville.

She was a lifelong member of OSLC. She cherished her Christian faith, her Norwegian heritage and her family. With a rich alto voice, she sang in the church choir for more than 60 years. She also was a Sons of Norway member for many years. Esther was gifted in rosemaling, as a seamstress, knitter, grandmother and lover of the world around her.

Esther is survived by her son, David (Laurie) Olson; and daughter, Danelle (Jim) Sersha; grandchildren, Rachel Sersha of Duluth, Karrin (Scott) Erickson of Cottage Grove, Minn., Kari (Stanley) Townsdin of Walker, and Andy Olson (fiancé Jenny Hall) of Duluth; great-grandchildren, Esten and Ellingten of Cottage Grove, Emily of Walker; and one brother, Daniel (Maxine) Buvarp of Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Irving, brothers, Oscar and Asbjorn; sisters, Eleanor Gulbrantson, Margit Buvarp, and Dagmar Janulas.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Virginia, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Bob Simensen will officiate. Memorials may be made, in Esther's name, to OSLC or Virginia Historical Society. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home in Virginia. I følge avisartikklen som Ann-Mary hensviser til så kaller han seg Beyer Buvarp i 1909 og er bosatt i Virginia området i St. Louis county, Minnesota.
Men jeg klarer ikke å finne han i 1910 tellingen..
