Peder Nilsen Berg

Stemmer med denne på Find a grave http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cg ... 11&df=all&

Mvh

Hei Marit!
In the 1910 Polk county, Fosston, MN census:
Pettra Berg is a widow age 53, listed as "head of household"...but under the column how many children (born)..answer was 0, number living 0...
Immigration year is the same as the 1900 census, 1883 from Norway...

Seems like the person who is Peder's wife in 1900....but what happened to the children?

Hei Patty

Maybe this is Petra living with her sister in 1920 https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MWTB-1FX

Could this be Peder and Petras son Adolph as Henry Adolph Berg https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/K875-WVZ
And here https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MWBR-X8N

Death Henry https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/V4Q7-B4N

Hei Marit!
Henry Adolph Berg in the WW 1 draft, is probably Peder's son...the birth year matches in both records...Jan 1889...

So the Henry A. Berg and family you found in 1920 Polk county is in Duluth (St. Louis county) in 1940 MN census:
Henry age 51, Ragnhild 53, Alvin 27, and Doris 26
The 1940 census also "tells" that they lived in the same place in 1935
Henry is a salesman for a clothing company, Alvin is also a salesman and Doris is a typist for an insurance company.
I imagine that Alvin probably had to enlist for WW 2 (about 1941...when we entered the war).

Henry perhaps is at findagrave in the Duluth area????

Sorry...I did not explain well...
Henry Adolph's birth year matches in the 1900 Polk co, MN census and the 1917 WW 1 Draft record...Jan 1889. I guess he preferred to use the name Henry...rather than Adolph...

Hei!
I found the marriage of Henry A. Berg to Ragnhild Fagerlie May 6, 1911 in Renville county, MN
I used this search site http://moms.mn.gov

I am not sure if this is the right Henry A Berg.

Renville county is not close to Polk County...so I am not sure how Henry A/"Adolph"would meet Ragnhild...

But I did find Ragnhild in the 1900 and 1910 census with her parents in Renville, Hawk Creek Twp.,MN
In 1900 the family name is spelled "Fagerlie", Engebret is the father (head of household)..it says
Ragnhild was born May 1886.
In the Renville county 1910 census the family name is spelled "Fagerli", Engebret is the head.
Ragnhild is age 29 (which is off from 1900 census)...and she is a saleswoman for a general store.

In the 1920 Polk county, Rosebud MN census:
Henry A. Berg, age 30 is married to "Ragnhild" age 32...they have 3 children Alvin, Doris, Viola...same family listed for the 1940 census in Duluth.

Perhaps someone can help figure out if I am on the right track with these families???

Hi Patty

Thanks again for your help searching for me.
As I said before I think it is difficult to find the right person when there are several persons with the same name and birth year the same as "mine".

And I don´t have access to Ancestry or other pages where I need to pay for searching in US.
The searchpage http://moms.mn.gov/ was great, I didn´t know about that.

Marit
