Personen jeg søker er Amanda Viktoria Andersson f. 7/2-1885 Djuf, Silbodal, Värmland. Foreldrene er Anders Olsson og Anna Olsdotter (stemor Emma Christina Larsson Nyberg). Jeg vet at hun emigrerte til Norge i november 1905, men kan hun ha reist videre til USA?

The Amanda Viktoria Anderson that you show lived at 2301 Coventry Road in Cleveland when she was naturalized in 1931.

Here she is in the 1930 FT:

Anderson, Amanda, 45 years old, not married, servant, a cook, born in Sweden
arrived in America 1907

She is living with the family of Charles and Gertrude Bradley.

In 1920 Amanda Anderson (34 years old) was living in the same city, but was a cook for the family of William and Margaret Prescott. The 1920 FT also says she arrived in America in 1907.

In 1910 Amanda Anderson (25 years old) was a servant for the family of Edward and Hanna Meyer in Cleveland. The immigration date is hard to read, but does look lke 1907 again.


I can't find her in Ohio in 1940, but I do find this person:

1940 FT, Pasedena, Los Angeles county, California
Anderson, Amanda, cook, 55 years old, born in Sweden, home in 1935 was Los Angeles.

She was a cook for Frank and Jeanette Caulk. It looks like the same Amanda Anderson.

Where did your Amanda Anderson live in Norway?

I found this record that looks interesting:

Arrived in New York 21 Nov 1907 aboard the ship C. F. Tietgen, which sailed from Christiania on 8 Nov 1907

Anderson, Amanda, 22 years old, servant, born in Sweden, lived in Nordstrand, Norway
traveling to Philadelphia (this as changed to Brooklyn). Father: Anders Olsen

Thank you for all the information! It seems like it's the right person.

I don't know where in Norway she went, but Nordstrand is a neighbourhood in Oslo, and many swedes went to work in Oslo.

And on the ship manifest I believe it says that her father lives in "Djufsheden, Karlanda, Sweden" which is where she lived before she went to Norway.
