Friends may call at the Fulkerson Funeral Home of Tioga on Thursday from 10am to 6pm and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Service
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, July 25, 2008 at the Zion Free Lutheran Church in Tioga. Pastor Rodger Olson will officiate.

Orel Herfindahl, 95, of Tioga, ND, died Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Tioga Medical Center in Tioga.

Orel Jalmer Herfindahl was born September 9,1912 to Olaus and Theodora (Olson) Herfindahl on the family farm in Pleasant Valley Township, Williams County, North Dakota. He was educated at Baker School.

On February 5, 1942 Orel was united in marriage to Vivian Syverson at Sidney, Montana. He entered the US Army in 1942 and served in Belgium, France, England, & Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1945. The couple made their home in Tioga where Orel worked in the oilfields near Tioga for many years.

Orel is survived by his wife, Vivian of Tioga, ND; son, Lowell (Sonja) Herfindahl of Minot, ND; daughters, Viann Sandberg of Minot, ND, Jeanene (Robert) Sauer of St. Charles, IL, and Valerie (Dallas) Lalim of Tioga, ND; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; sister Evelyn Skarphol of Tioga, ND; brother-in-law, Eugene (Darlene) Syverson of Maple Falls, WA; sister-in-law, and Helen Herfindahl of Tioga, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Henry and Telford; and sisters Eleanor, Ruby, Lorraine, and Myrtle.
