Jeg har fått mye hjelp her, og forsøker med nestemann på lista. 2 brødre Floer fra Finnmark reiste til Amerika der de hadde slekt. Jens Bernard Floer, f. 28.04.1862 på Sørøya, tok utflytting fra Tr.heim med Tasso, 13.05.1880. Oppga å skulle til Minnesota/Minneapolis. Broren Hans Christian Floer, f. 21.07.1866 sies å ha reist sammen med broren. Jeg har ikke dokumentert det. På tellingen 1880 Kansas finner jeg Jens Bernard hos onkelen Peter Buck. Han står da oppført slik: Bernard Floer, 18 år = nevø. Broren var ikke der. Nå håper jeg igjen at det er noen som vil hjelpe meg. Hilsen Gullbjørg

LARNED - Esther C. Jost, 95, of Larned, died Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at Larned Healthcare Center. She was a homemaker and had lived in Larned since 1962.

She was born September 27, 1911, in Marquette, Kan., to Ben and Anna Floer. She married Eben Berg in Marquette on March 25, 1933. He died in 1950. On January 6, 1963, she married William Jost in Raton, New Mexico.

He died August 3, 1996. She was preceded in death by a son, Jay Dee Berg, and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Berg; a great-grandson, Brandon Jay; five sisters; and one brother.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn and husband, John Haas, Larned; grandchildren, Eric Berg, and wife, Ann, and daughters, Kalyie, Lily, and Emily, Lincoln, Neb., Kristina Berg and son Dustin, Loveland, Colo., Charles Haas, wife Tammy, and children, Macy and Ethan, Larned, Kista Holt and husband Kevin, and children, Kathryn and Abigail, Olathe; a sister, Annabelle Lindstedt, and sister-in-law, Wilma Floer, both of Marquette; one stepdaughter, Marlene "Boots" Hedberg, Marquette; and two stepsons, Dale Jost, Garden City, and Gary Jost, Pawnee Rock.

She was a longtime member of Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette, Saint Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, Larned, Ash Valley Sunflower Club, and other organizations.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette, with the Rev. David Beece officiating. Burial will be in Marquette Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Sunday the family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. at Morell Funeral Home, Larned.

Memorials may be made to the Elim Lutheran Church of Marquette or the Larned Healthcare Center, in care of Morell Funeral Home, P.O. Box 124, Larned, KS 67550-0124.

MARQUETTE - Anna Belle Lindstedt, 92, died March 19, 2007.

She was born April 29, 1914, in Conway, the daughter of Benjamin and Anna Masters Floer. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker.

She belonged to Elim Lutheran Church and Lydia Women's Group.

On Dec. 14, 1940, she married Vergil G. Lindstedt in Marquette. He died Jan. 8, 1981.

Survivors include: a son, Gail, Marquette; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Randy; a brother; six sisters; and two half brothers.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church with family present. Burial will be in Marquette Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Riverview Estates, in care of Christians Funeral Home, P.O. Box 386, Lindsborg, KS.

Hallo Margit. Thank you very much. I didn,t exept the answer so quickly, it was a big surprise. I can see Ben 1900 was a single man, but in 1910 he had wife and 6 children, the oldest one was 16 years. Jennie, Margret, Rose and Lillie are born after 1900, but Edie and Cora was born before. Either are they Annas children from another marriage, and perhaps adopted by Ben, or in otherwise, they was married before 1900. I wonder, what did you think about it? Henry Floer are definite Bens brother. His real name was Henrick Christian. He seems to be a single man his hole life. Thanks again. Gullbjørg

Det var utrolig interessant å lese denne livshistorien, og hvordan det faktisk er mulig å følge liv på denne måten, ikke minst over Atlanteren. Det som fikk meg til å se nærmere på det var etternavnet Floer. I min slektsbok skriver jeg litt om handelsmann Ulich i Loppa. Datteren Serine, som døde 21 år gammel, fikk datteren Serine Wicklund som giftet seg med Richard Anton Floer i 1902. Richard var sønn av Henrik Christian Floer og Maren Stoltenberg. Kanskje denne Henrik er bror av Jens Bernhard?

A possible explanation to the Bernard/Benjamin problem. His name was Jens Bernard, in America this name would be too long and too difficult so he used the short form Ben. When his daughter Anna Belle died, those who wrote the obituary had only heard of Annna Belle's parents as Ben and Anna. Since Ben usually is a short form of Benjamin they naturally thought Ben's name was Benjamin, not Bernard.

Bonita "Bonnie" Jo Brown Berg Hanson

Bonita "Bonnie" Jo Brown Berg Hanson was born May 5, 1944, in Milwaukee, Wis., the daughter of Harvey and Ann Brown. Bonnie had two sisters and four brothers. She died peacefully on May 12, 2005.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her first husband, Jay Dee Berg of Marquette, Kan.; a grandson, Brandon Jay Hitt; her parents; a brother, Charles H. Brown of Pueblo; and niece Ann Maire Voelker of Palmer Lake.

She is survived by her husband, Duane Hanson of Palmer Lake; a son, Eric J. Berg and his wife, Ann, of Manhattan, Kan.; and a daughter, Kristina A. (Hitt) Berg of Loveland. Her four grandchildren, Kaylie Hogan-Schnittker, Dustin Benny Hitt, Lily Kirsten Berg and Emily Ann Berg, filled her life with great joy.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at Pinecrest Chapel, followed by a community potluck luncheon at Pinecrest Event Center, 106 Pinecrest Way, Palmer Lake.
