Som ein kan sjå reiste han i lag med bror sin, Lars, den seinare godt kjende presten Lars P. Thorkveen (1856-1923): medstiftar av og formann for Gudbrandsdalslaget 1909-1923, formann for Bygdelagenes Fællesraad 1919-1923 m.m.

Familien står i Bygdabok for Lom bd. 3 (2005) s. 443.

Men bror hans, Paul, finn eg ikkje nemndt nokon gong. Her er det mange dyktige Amerika-granskarar med tilgang til folketeljingar o.a. kjelder; kanskje nokon knekker nøtta?

A good example of "name-crushing", anyway (Torekveen --> Torckoeen).

Takk for det, Tor. Lars' livsløp er elles godt kjent, m.a. gjennom boka _Mindeblade om pastor L.P. Thorkveen : et Udvalg af hans Skrifter, samt flere biografiske Skisser : illustreret / udgivet af T.P. Laingen ; redigeret af J.O. Hall_ (1930) samt artiklar i Årbok for Gudbrandsdalen og _Heim og Bygd_ i Lom.

Men Paul er altså ikkje nemnt i desse kjeldene, heller ikkje i testamentet til Lars, som er attgjeve i boka.

Do you have an exact birthdate on Paul? There are databases I can search with birthdate also. What other surname could he have used besides Paulson? Any other farms?

Paul was born January 8th, 1862.

His father and mother both came from holdings under Andvord, an old and large farm in central Lom, neigbour of Prestgarden (Vicar's farm) and Lom Church. But it was not usual for people from minor holdings to use the name of the main farm as family names in Lom.
