I have found the marriage of this couple, in Paulus menighet, 19 Dec 1880, but I cannot find them on the 1900 census. I would request help to find children from this marriage, and to know if they remained in Norway. Knut is my great great uncle, and 3 of his siblings moved to America.
Your help would be much appreciated

Re: children of Agnes Elise Finstad and Knut Johannessen
First, I will give the link to their marriage-record:
Kildeinformasjon: Oslo fylke, Paulus, Ministerialbok nr. 4 (1879-1891), Ekteviede 1880, side 169.
Permanent sidelenke: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?i ... _side=-174
Permanent bildelenke: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:NBN:no-a1 ... 020348.jpg
I have looked in the 1900-census, but I cannot find them either. They might be dead already.
Have you looked in the Paulus church records to see if you can find any child born around the year of the marriage?

Re: children of Agnes Elise Finstad and Knut Johannessen
Thank you for the quick reply. I am more apt to think this couple have moved, or perhaps one died and the other remarried, or such, but they are pretty young to be deceased. Knut was born in 1845 in Aure, and Agnes was born in 1845 in (I think, Oslo or) Kristianin. Each are on the 1865 census, but I find neither until the marriage.
Anything further would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Yes I looked in church records a fair amount. I found nothing of births, or move out. Of course it is with difficulty, but I have tried.
Thanks again

Hi,
Here is Agnis Elise Finstad in 1875, it says that she’s born in 1848 in Kristiania (Oslo), address Stolmagergade 9, she lives with her widowed mother and a bunch of siblings.

Agnes Elise’s baptizm record:
Oslo fylke, Oslo Domkirke / Vår Frelsers menighet, Ministerialbok nr. 13 (1844-1864), Fødte og døpte 1848, side 184.

Herman Finstad and Maren Oline Svendsen’s marriage record
Oslo fylke, Garnisonsmenigheten, Ministerialbok nr. 8 (1842-1859), Ekteviede 1845, side 340.

Knut and Agne’s marriage record states that Knut is a rural store owner in Lysaker, so I guess that’s where they lived after the wedding. Lysaker would be Østre Bærum Parish. However, I had a quick look for children in 1881/82 with no luck.
I haven’t looked at the emigration lists in the church books of ØStre Bærum, might be an idea…
Regards,
Arna Kristin
