i live in australia i need some help i have found a schønning in my family tree here is what i have ane marie schønning married to niels andersson who worked as a nail smith in tisdendal in halden lived in berg østfold norway in 1841 had child johan herman nilsen in 1841 and anders magnus nilsen born in berg in 1844 now i dont know anything else i hope someone can help as the name schønning i think is swedish in the 1865 census for fjaere aust agder johan herman nilsen is there with his wife and children and his mother and it says she was born in dal and her age i think she was born in 1817 in the record of anders birth there are a few swedish names

She is listed as no. 5. Information is that in 1840 she moved to Berg from Högsäter parish in Sweden.

I found on "Familysearch" (http://www.familysearch.org) that Anna Maria Schoning and Nils Andersson were married on the 8th June 1840 in Sillerud parish, Värmland province, Sweden.

i have posted the same enquire in the emigrasion and other countries in the sverige forum under ane marie schønning
and all the links work there
the info from family search sounds promising but how do i prove this is the one i wish it is as i have been chasing this family for ages if you look in the fredrikstad forum under berge 1841 reading digital archive you will see my chase and the great help i have recieved so far from some wonderful people willing to help me as i am so far away but the birth marriage and death dates still elude me

i myself born in fredrikstad 1962 moved to australia 1970 brother born in moss both parents no longer with us

Unfortunately I don't have access to the Sillerud parish records.
Sillerud is in the southwest of Värmland, just on the border to Dalsland - so it is not very far from the Halden area.

About the birthplace Dal: Dal, Sweden is the same as Dalsland, Sweden

this is an entry of departures from the berg district in 1845 in the right hand corner of the right page entry numbers 34,35,36,37 is niels anderson anna maria schønning johan herman and anders magnus .Now it should say where they went it doesnt it just tells you the year they were born and their is no date when they left can anybody help me and tell me where they went to as it will tell me possibly where nils died .my gret great grandfather johan was married in arendal in aust agder in 1865 and lived in fjaere but have checked these areas and found no arrivals of these people

The entry says Alle til Eidsfos, t.i. they all moved to Eidsfoss. According to the entry, they left for Eidsfoss in the autumn 1845.

Eidsfoss is in Hof parish, Vestfold county.

thank you i found them arriving in hof parish in october 1845 but found them leaving again in 1847 but i cant understand where it says that they went this time i think nils went to eidsfoss as he was a nail smith and eidsfoss had a ironworks at the time but i have no reason why he would leave if someone can tell me what it says where he went it would be much appreciated

i have found 3rd child helene born 17 february 1846 in hof parish eidsfos but where did they all go

Hallo Ole!

I have looked in the records for Sillerud parish. They married on the 8th June 1840, just like Tove wrote earlier. Anna Maria age 23 and Nils age 22. Then they left the parish the same year and emigrated to Norway. It is written 11th of October 1840 in the book. There is no other destination said than Norway.

In the "Husforhör-records" from Sillerud I have found them both on "Snarkils Bruk", Anna Maria born 29/3-1817 in Billingsfors, and Nils born in 1818 in Sillerud.

When I looked in the records of Billingsfors I found Anna Maria Schöning born 29/3-1817, baptised the same day, daugther of Johan Schöning and wife Stina Nyberg.
Johan is born in Billingsfors in 1785, and Stina in Sillerud in 1787, acording to the "Husforhör".

Anna Maria was one of at least 4 children in the family.

Nils Andersson is some more difficult. There are at least 2 with that name born in Sillerud in 1818.
