My great grandfather was in prison for four years beginning Oct. 11, 1900 (prison record Varetektsprotokoll 1886-1901). On Dec. 4, 1900 he (and documents in this case) was sent from Kristiansand to Akershus landsfengsel in Oslo. I have been unsuccessful in navigating Arkivverket to obtain these records, so I am looking for someone that might be willing to help me.

Yes, it is. Thank you very much for your quick response. His sentence was four years. Might I be able to find out when he was actually released? Also, is it possible to get information like who filed charges against him and what happened that he got arrested?

Hi

I think you must send a request to the Oslo State Archive with the information you have (links ect.) and they should then be able to find the documents and send you a copy of the documents they have.
(they have been very helpfull to me in a similar case)
