Halstein Olsen Halsteinsrud

I am trying to find any information on Halstein Olsen Halsteinsrud who was born about 1752 in Østerdal. He died in Feiring, Hurdal, Akershus in 1836. He married Margrete Nilsdatter Flesvig from Feiring in 1788. This information is from the Feirings historie. I haven't been able to trace which town in the Østerdalen he came from. Your help is appreciated.

I can't find Halstein Olsen died in Hurdal 1836. But here is a link, then you can search for him:

Østerdalen is a valley (dal = valley) and its length is about 230 kilometres; Elverum-Os. All in Hedmark county.

You can go to http://kart.finn.no/

And then put in a town named Elverum, then "Søk i kart" (search in map). Then go north by road number 3 (RV3) to Tynset. Then road number 30 (RV30), North-East, to Os.

Os i (in) Østerdalen is a small community with about 2000 inhabitants. And Os is the "northest" (can't find the right word ) community in Østerdalen.

Elverum is the only city/town in Østerdalen.

("Østerdal" may of course be the name of a farm/place with it's location an other place in Norway, too. Anyway; we'll hope that other DIS-members have something interesting to add here )

Halstein Olsen Halstensrud was born in Nøtåsen, Elverum 1783, died 27.01.1818 in Elverum. He was a soldier in "Søndenfieldske infanteriregiment" and stayed in Fredrikstad most of the year. Halstein was son of Ole Pedersen Nyborg and Kirsti Halvorsdtr. Nøtåsen. He was married to Marte Olsdtr. from Årnes, Akershus, and got five children with her: Ole, Olea, Kristian, Amund and Pernille. The family lived at Halstensrud, Nøtåsen, Elverum. (Source: Elverum Bygdebok 6, s. 75).

Tusen takk! This is very interesting, but I do not think it is the correct family. My Halsten Olsen Halstensrud died in Feiring, Akershus in 1836. This must be a different person.

My Great Grandfather was born on Halstensrud Gård(Farm) in 1875, his name was Strømme Olsen Nødaasen. - Later he took the name Strømme Berg.
My Grandfathers name was Halsten Strømme and he was probably named after the Farm....
I`m working on finding out more about the family an history, but I dont have much....

There is also a Halsten Olsen bapt 16 Dec 1753 on the farm Sættren. He is the son of Ole Olsen. Does the Elverum Bygdebok mention him or whether he left Elverum for Hurdal.

Ole Olsen is in the family, but I havent heard about Sætteren...???
Maybe someone could help?
I find it a little bit confusing.. Im trying to get it all together myself....
